ExxonMobil has a long-standing commitment to supporting education and continually strives to develop opportunities to contribute to education initiatives, particularly in science, engineering, technology and math (STEM). Sharing the common goal to promote math and science education, ExxonMobil established a partnership with Phil and Amy Mickelson to develop the Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy.

Working in conjunction with the National Science Teachers Association and Math Solutions, the Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy is a week-long professional development program for third- through fifth grade teachers designed to hone their teaching skills in math and science and help them inspire their students in these subjects.

To date, more than 1,400 teachers from across the country have attended the Academy, impacting the lives of more than 30,000 students nationwide. Based on the ongoing success of this public-private partnership, Phil Mickelson was invited by the chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee, U.S. Representative George Miller, to testify before the committee about the importance of these partnerships in advancing math and science education in the United States.

In 2008, the Academy further expanded the opportunity for teachers to attend this professional development program. To learn more and to nominate a teacher, visitwww.sendmyteacher.com.
